A recent formulation involved a multi-ingredient beverage powder containing minerals, amino acids, and a standardized botanical extract.
Initial performance issues included surface clumping, incomplete dispersion, and visible sediment after mixing—particularly driven by the hydrophilic behavior and particle characteristics of the botanical component.
We approached this by mapping ingredient interactions and identifying how particle size, density differences, and surface behavior were contributing to instability in the system.
Targeted adjustments were made to improve dispersion and overall mixability, including changes to the mineral system, refinement of the acid balance, and incorporation of functional excipients to support more uniform hydration and suspension.
